Your first Amsterdam massage, from the first message to the closed door, in ten short steps

A first booking feels bigger than it is. Most of the worry comes from not knowing the order of things. Here is that order, in ten short steps, from the moment you start typing to the moment the door closes behind her.

Steps one to three: the message and the reply

Step one: choose a name from the roster, or decide that any name will do. Step two: write four or five short lines with the place, the day, the hour, the length and the name. Step three: read the reply. It gives one name, one start and one total. Check the hour twice, and then answer yes.

Step four: the deposit

A first booking with the house always has a deposit. Half of the total is paid before she sets out. How to pay it is written in the thread once the hour is agreed, and nowhere else. If a message from anywhere else asks you for money, it did not come from the house.

Steps five and six: the wait and the knock

Step five: get ready. Shower, warm the room, switch on one lamp, and put away what you would rather not leave out. Step six: the knock. In central Amsterdam it comes forty to sixty minutes after your yes. A short line tells you she has set out, and a second tells you she is at your floor.

Step seven: the door and the ID

Open the door and let her in. She may ask to see an ID with your photo, because every guest must be twenty-one or over. She looks once and gives it back. Then the second half of the total is settled, in the room, at the start of the visit.

Step eight: her limits

Before anything else, she tells you her limits. Listen, and answer each point with yes or no if that helps. If a word is unclear, ask her to repeat it more slowly. Her limits stay where she set them for the rest of the visit.

Step nine: the session

Lie down and let her set the pace. Use the small words if you need them: slower, softer, pause, stop. Or say nothing at all, if that is what you prefer. Yes, slower or stop explains what each word does.

Step ten: the end

When the time is up, she tells you. You dress, she packs her bag, and she leaves. Nothing more is asked of you. If you want to book again on another day, write in the same thread, and the reply will know you have been a guest before.

Questions

Do I need to choose a therapist for my first booking?

No. You can write no preference, and the reply names a woman who is free at your hour. If you do have a name in mind, write it.

Is there always a deposit on a first booking?

Yes. A first booking with the house always has one: half of the total before she sets out, and the rest when she arrives.

I am nervous about the first visit. Is that a problem?

That is common, and it is fine to say so. A first visit can begin slowly, with a few words before the massage starts. Ninety minutes or two hours gives that start more room.
