Balance: what is left to pay at the door
The balance is the part of the price still to be paid when she arrives. With a deposit, it is the second half. Without a deposit, it is the whole price.
In a bank, your balance is the money in your account. In a booking, the word means something different. It is what you still owe. So once a two hour booking has had its deposit paid, the balance is the second half of that booking's figure, exactly the size of the first.
When it is paid
At the start, when she arrives, before the session begins. Paying first means that money is finished with, and the rest of the visit has nothing to do with it.
How it can be paid
- Cash in euros.
- Cash in another major currency, at the exact sum written in the thread before she sets out.
- Card.
- Crypto.
The guide to cash in another currency explains the second option step by step.
Have it ready
If you pay in cash, count the notes before she knocks and put them in one place. Change may not be available, so the exact figure helps both of you.
A worked example
Say you book ninety minutes with one therapist for tomorrow. Because that is more than twenty-four hours ahead, half of her ninety minute figure is sent first as the deposit. When she knocks, the other half is the balance. The thread names both halves in euros, so you can count the notes or check the card amount before the door opens.
Nothing added at the door
Once the balance is paid, the price of the session is complete. Nothing is added to it for her journey, for a late hour or for a weekend date. Only a longer session, agreed in the thread, changes the figure.
